Muzzy for iTunes App Reviews

App does nothing… Double click on it and nothing happens.

Its been working well for me, and is pretty much what I was looking for. This version does not recognize songs played from iTunes Radio, so hopefully future versions will include that support.

I was looking for an app that would let me see and control iTunes current status from the menu bar at the top of the screen. (I know I can control iTunes from the dock, but I keep that on auto-hide in some contexts. The menu bar is visible far more often.) So, when you start it up, you get a little musical note in the menu bar. (Some of the other reviews have complained that double-clicking the app does nothing; it is not clear to me whether they overlooked the change to their menu bar, or if something is different about their system so that there is no change to their menu bar.) When you click on the musical note in the menu bar, you see the album art in a square drop down from the menu item, with the name of the current song overlaid in the bottom left corner. In that drop down, you can scrub the song, zipping backwards or forwards in time. If you click the three horizontal lines in the upper right corner, the square flips over to give you a track listing. So, pros: 1. The eye candy is very nice. I can imagine cases where access to scrubbing is nice. 2. Access to the track list is also nice. However, I was surprised that there is no play/pause functionality available in the menu item. Ive looked around and theres lots of other stuff (e.g. Plug-out, Notify track changes), but I cannot see play/pause, except for a button that will bring up iTunes (and then I can play/pause there). Also, nothing to control the volume of iTunes (e.g. if I want to keep other system alerts at the same level). So, for viewing the current status, the app is great. For *controlling* the status, it is not quite what I had expected, but still potentially useful.

It would be a cool five stars then… I imagine that’s coming soon. Keep up the good work guys!

I really like how the controls are not cluttering the interface but still easy to control. I have given 4 star because the lyrics don’t work for me. Nothing hapens when I hover over the album art. Please fix it.

I tried to find an iTunes App on the menu bar and found this. Though it doesn’t have any control buttons for now, I still love to see it on the top of the screen just for the beautiful design. And also they are making a new version which will have playback control and more other new features! I recommand this to any musich lover who want an eligant iTunes controller ;) stay tune and waitting for the update!

Beautiful app. It takes up little space when opened and the design is simple and elegant. Much nicer than the itunes notifications. I love the translucent line that tracks the song progress over the album artwork. I can’t wait to see what future updates have in store!

No pause/play or next/previous that I can find so only useful to see the track list, the album art and jump around within one track. If it has play/pause/etc and I’m not finding them then it still gets two stars for crappy documentation.

A bit bare in terms of functionality, but if the app were to gain song search support and keyboard shortcuts, it’d be great! Haven’t found a really good replacement for CoverSutra just yet, but this hopefully can get there. One small gripe I have though is that it takes away focus from other windows when you click on it. It would be nice if it would function how some other menu bar apps work and not take total window focus when clicked, but just display as a floating/hud window. Being able to press ‘escape’ and have it disappear would be good too. But good job so far.

Can’t stop the process once it’s launched without rebooting the computer, no sharing, nothing more than a waste of space. Pointless.

Lovely little app. Dropping one star because the menu bar icon is not compatible with the black menu bar option in Yosemite. Needs an update!

I like very much everything, but the lyrics must be added manualy?? I’ts possible to add the lyrics search over internet? thanks
